A perennial favourite, The Ghost Train was Brian Hicks’ first foray into directing – an apt choice for a railway enthusiast, and Brian’s attention to detail with regard to the train effects really paid off: the walls of the Playhouse reverberated as the famous train thundered through! First performed by the society in 1948, the capacity audiences showed that 39 years later, the play is still a great crowd-pleaser.
