"Star Quality" is a modern adaptation of a Noel Coward short story and play and was first performed in 2001. The original play was never produced as it lasted many hours and had a cast of thousands. The writer, Christopher Luscombe, has taken the original story and script and removed the excess and reduced the cast to a size modern theatre companies can cope with but kept the Coward concept.
The play is set in the early 50's. A new writer is trying to have his play produced in the West End and has chosen the director and leading lady he wants. The play progresses from first meetings to 1st night and shows how their relationships evolve.
